About Hardgrove Defense Group
Hardgrove was founded by mission-systems engineers and T&E practitioners who came up through the prime-contractor and government engineering organizations on Redstone. The firm exists to do careful, accountable engineering work for the Huntsville defense corridor at a scale that the large primes find structurally hard to replicate.
How we staff
Programs are owned by a senior engineer who is on the program from kickoff through the program-completion review. We do not staff junior engineers as program leads. Customers receive the same engineer at the Critical Design Review who was at the program kickoff.
Geography
Headquartered in Huntsville, two miles from Redstone Arsenal Gate 9. We support test and customer-site work at White Sands, Fort Rucker, and selected contractor test ranges. We do not staff overseas TDY assignments.
Size and growth
We are a small business under SBA size standard 541330. Our headcount sits in the low double digits by deliberate choice. We grow only when a customer commitment justifies a permanent addition; we do not grow into the next size standard until the customer book of business justifies it.
Standards we hold ourselves to
- Every deliverable is independently reviewed by a second senior engineer before it leaves the firm.
- We will not staff a program where the engineering cycle is too compressed to support the documentation the program office and the operational test community will require.
- We will tell a customer when a technical position is not supportable. That is the work we are paid for.
Hiring
We hire infrequently and only at senior engineering levels. Open positions, when they exist, are posted on our careers page. We do not retain a resume bank. We do not work with external recruiting agencies.
